North Weald Nightshoot held on the 29th of October 2011
This was the second time North Weald had held a Nightshoot. This one was organised by Weald Aviation. It was a terrific opportunity to photograph aircraft during both daytime and night time. I arrived on base just before 5PM, the weather was good, if a little windy, officially the event wasn't due to start until 5.30PM but I was by no means the first to arrive.
The list of participants for the event was excellent and included aircraft from both the piston and the jet age. Unfortunately the Messershmitt ME-108 didn't attend, I'm unsure of the reason, most of the other items on the list were there. Aircraft participation included several BAC Jet Provosts and Strikemaster 1125/G-CFBK, Hawker Hurricane Mk XII Z5140 G-HURI, Peter Teichman's Supermarine Spitfire MK XI, PL965 from the 'Hangar 11' Collection, De Havilland Vampire T.11 WZ507 (G-VTII) and Air Atlantique's De Havilland Venom (G-DHVM) WR470, Yakovlev Yak-52 G-YAKC and from Kennet Aviation the Westland Wasp HAS.1 XT435 (G-RIMM), Douglas AD-4N Skyraider 126922 and North American T6 LN-AMY now G-KAMY.
